Adding hundreds of products by hand isn't the job — the importer takes an Excel or CSV file and creates the whole catalog in one pass.

Import steps

  1. Open Products → Bulk import.
  2. Click Download template — it gives you the exact column layout the importer expects.
  3. Fill it in Excel and save (.xlsx, .xls or .csv — first row must stay as the header row).
  4. Drop the file in, review the preview, and fix any flagged rows.
  5. Confirm — products, variants and opening stock are created together.

What the file can carry

  • Name, SKU, barcode, category
  • Variant options and values (size/color rows for the same product)
  • Cost and selling price
  • Opening stock quantities

Tip: Barcodes in Excel get mangled when treated as numbers — format the barcode column as Text before pasting, or leading zeros silently disappear.

After the import

New products created by the import log a purchase stock movement — your stock ledger stays consistent, not just the counts. Opening balances land as opening stock so accounting can tell them apart from real purchases.

If some rows fail

The result reports which rows had errors and why — fix those rows in the file and re-import only the failures. See import errors for the common ones.
