Units of measure

This is the admin side of selling by units — the master list of units products can be measured in.

The list

Settings → Units shows the global units plus yours. Each has a code (kg, pcs), a name, and decimals — how many decimal places a quantity can have.

Add a unit

1. Click Add unit.
2. Code — the short label on the till (m, box, ltr).
3. Name — the full word.
4. Decimals — 0 for whole items, 2–3 for measurable goods.
5. Save — it's available on products immediately.

Picking decimals

• 0 — indivisible (shoes, phones). Cashiers can't ring "half a shoe."
• 2 — most weighed/measured goods (1.25 kg)
• 3 — fine measurement (grams-level precision)
