Payroll is only as honest as the attendance under it. HR → Attendance keeps two views of the same marks: Daily for taking the register, Monthly for reviewing the whole month at a glance.

The five marks

MarkMeansEarns
PPresentFull day
AAbsentNothing
LPaid leaveFull day
ULUnpaid leaveNothing
HHalf dayHalf a day

Days before an employee's joining date are locked.

Mark the day (Daily view)

  1. Pick the date — arrows step day by day, or jump straight with the date field.
  2. Tap a status on each employee's row; tap another to change it.
  3. Use Mark unmarked present to fill everyone left in one go.
  4. Edits pile into the unsaved counter — hit Save to store them, or Discard to drop the batch.

Review the month (Monthly view)

  • Click a cell to cycle: unmarked → P → A → L → UL → H.
  • Click a day header to mark everyone present for that day.
  • Each row ends with per-status totals and an attendance rate — (present + paid leave + ½ half days) ÷ marked days.
  • Print sheet produces the month's attendance report with signature lines.

Two shortcuts worth knowing

  • A sale credited to a salesman at the till marks them present that day automatically — floor staff get attendance for free.
  • Unmarked days are not deducted in payroll — they're flagged as unmarked on the run so you can fill the sheet and regenerate.

Tip: Mark attendance same-day. A week of backfilled guesses turns real absences into unmarked days — and unmarked days quietly pay like worked ones.
