HR → Payroll pays everyone through a run — a batch of payslips that moves draft → approved → paid, posting its own journals at each step.

Two kinds of run

RunPaysCovers
MonthlySalaried staffA whole month — set working days first
WageDaily-wage staffAny date range, via the Daily wages button

A wage run counts only days not already covered by another run — a forgotten stretch can be caught up safely without double-paying. The purple banner at the top lists uncovered daily-wage days (and estimated cost) and jumps straight into a run for them. Months with no monthly run for active salaried staff are flagged too.

The lifecycle

  1. Generate — the run snapshots attendance, base salary and each salesman's commission into one line per employee.
  2. Edit the draft — Bonus, Advance (prefilled from outstanding advances) and Other deductions are editable per line.
  3. Approve — locks the figures, posts the salary-accrual journal and marks advance recoveries.
  4. Pay — pick the account it pays from, the method (cash / bank / cheque / card), date and reference. The payment journal posts and the run flips to paid.

An approved-but-unpaid run stays as a banner until it's paid — the salary is already a liability on the books.

Reading a run

  • Attendance column: 12P · 1H · 2L · 1A — plus amber unmarked days. Unmarked days pay nothing for daily staff and deduct nothing for salaried staff — fill attendance and regenerate if that's wrong.
  • Net sales / Commission — what each salesman sold and earned on top. Payslips label the real basis — % of net sales, per-unit · N units, or mixed when a period blends both commission modes.
  • Print register gives the whole-run sheet; the printer icon on a row prints that employee's payslip.

Note: Drafts can be deleted and regenerated freely. Once paid, a run is permanent — the journals it posted are part of the books.
