Who changed what, and when — the accountability trail for sensitive edits.

The audit log records the sensitive actions — which staff member changed which record, and when. It's the answer to "who edited this price?" and "who voided that invoice?"
Read it
- Open Accounting → Audit.
- Filter by period, table (the kind of record), or user.
- Each row shows the record touched, the action, and the actor.
What it's for
- Accountability — discounts, edits and voids attribute to a person, not "the system."
- Reconstruction — when a number looks wrong, trace when it changed and by whom before correcting.
- Reviews — owners can spot-check the sensitive actions cashiers took during a shift.
Keep it meaningful
The log is only as strong as staff access discipline:
- Give each person their own login — shared accounts make "who" meaningless. See add staff.
- Restrict the dangerous permissions (price override, stock adjust, voids) to the roles that need them — roles & permissions.
Note: The audit log is an owner/manager surface — it doesn't appear for roles without the permission.
