A customer steps away to grab their wallet, or someone at the back of the queue is ready first — Hold parks the whole cart instead of deleting it.
Hold a sale
- Build the cart as usual.
- Press F2 (or the hold action in the till).
- Optionally give it a label so you can tell parked carts apart ("blue shirt guy", "table order").
- The cart clears and you serve the next customer immediately.
The parked cart keeps its items, quantities, discounts and the attached customer.
Recall it
- Press F3 (Recall).
- The list shows every held cart on this register — newest first.
- Pick one — the cart comes back exactly as it was, and you charge it like any sale.
Tip: Held carts are per register, so a second counter won't see them. Use clear labels when several cashiers share one till.
Good to know
- Holds survive a browser refresh — the cart isn't lost if the page reloads.
- There's no expiry on a hold, but clear stale ones at day close so the list stays short.
- If a sale was interrupted by a crash rather than a hold, use Recovery (F5) instead — see recover an interrupted sale.
